Album Background

Recorded during the Covid pandemic at Forrest’s family home, “Oihana” is the debut acoustic effort from Brendan Forrest and trio mates: Swedish Norwegian fiddler Patrik Alhberg and upright bass virtuoso Andrew Vogt. This acoustic album consists of nine original compositions, all meticulously recorded live in a single night with the help of Grammy-nominated audio engineer Andy Shoemaker. The result is an intimate performance that unveils Forrest's self-aware transition from his previous hybrid-rock sound to a fully realized acoustic songwriter and composer.

The album comprises original work written by Brendan Forrest - rooted in traditional folk/ bluegrass with hints of Swedish and Norwegian heritage.
